The project is part of the “Rehabilitation and expansion of the water supply and sewerage system in Vidin” project.
The Vidin wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) has the capacity to handle 56,000 equivalent inhabitants until 2041 and treats all of the city’s wastewater before it enters the Danube River.
The station processes wastewater with an average daily flow rate of 1,440 cubic meters per day.
A technology has been applied which, in addition to mechanical cleaning of water, also subjects it to biological purification.
The station is equipped with the most modern heating systems for the protected tanks, and the separated gas is used in the KO-generator – Central installation for thermal and electric energy (CITEE), to generate electrical energy. The extracted heat energy is used for the heating needs of the station.
