Realization of the first stage of the project “Major repair and reconstruction of Asparuhov Bridge, Varna – overpass part together with the extension, railway overpasses, and road junctions to it”.
The bridge was built in 1939 and for 35 years it was movable to give ships access to the lake. At the beginning of 1975, a Russian ship destroyed it during an incorrect maneuver. Three years later, the new bridge structure was built. It is composed of a total of 11 facilities and has been in operation since 1976. It is the main connection of the public transport network. “Asparuhovo” with the other districts of Varna.
